Gradient Curve Screens in the News

The Gradient Curve Room divider is hot. Now that working from home is here to stay, the screen offers a perfect way to use and divide your space functionally and beautifully, according to the Dutch Financial Daily. Simultaneously, the screen was also recently selected for the ‘Vorm aan de Vecht’ exhibition curated by Nicole Uniquole, where over 50 renowned artists show their design and art. Both examples offer a glimpse of the curve panel’s versatility in various applications, from stand-alone screens to complete interior cladding systems.

In the Dutch Financial Daily article, journalist Elsbeth Grievink describes how we are all going back to the office but working from home is something that will remain. And therefore, it is best to invest in work furniture that is also attractive and encourages movement, whether a foldable desk or a tasteful sitting ball or, for instance, a beautiful room divider that smartly separates your space into a living and working area, as the Curve does.

The Curve room divider is also currently on show in Buitenplaats Doornburgh, a former convict, where nuns used to live and work in a secluded manner. The serene building provides a backdrop for various artisanal objects that all thoughtfully play with form and rhythm. The architectural mastermind behind the building, Dom Hans van der Laan, was a monk himself and designed according to the ‘figurative number’. All spaces are designed to relate naturally and harmoniously to each other.

Curator Nicole Uniquole selected the ‘Curve’ for the exhibition as it plays with form and rhythm on several levels. Each Curve room divider is made-to-order, so always designed precisely to fit the space it stands in. Also, each cell in the pattern of the partition screen can be open or closed, thus creating a beautiful play of light and shadow specifically tailored to the space. In the museum, a large circle appears in the midst of the room divider, adding an extra dimension to the serene cloister environment.

The room divider is part of the ‘Gradient Curve’ family: A series of distinguished curvy panels and screens that can be applied as a single furniture object, or used as an interior system, enabling designers to cover entire glass areas to provide shading, or clad full walls and fixed furniture items for instance. The gradient relates to the cells, which can gradually open or close, thereby creating a subtle transparancy gradient. See more examples of Curve system applications:
